Homeless Assistance Center
The Homeless Assistance Center (HAC) provides housing and assistance to individuals and families on two campuses, one in Homestead and one in downtown Miami. St. Thomas sponsors meals at each center monthly. Volunteers gather at the HAC at 3:30pm to prepare the meal in cooperation with the kitchen staff, and to serve the meal beginning at 5:30pm. Our Youth Group also travels to the HAC periodically for an afternoon of games and sports with the residents. In addition, special projects are planned throughout the year.

Food Pantry
Parishioners are asked to bring in canned or dry goods to church each Sunday. St. Thomas also participates in “Souper Sunday” each February; parishioners are asked to bring in one can of soup and $1 per person to feed the hungry. Volunteers are needed to deliver the items to local food pantries.

Holy Comforter
Holy Comforter Episcopal Church and St. Thomas are sister parishes in Miami that have built a sustainable and lasting companionship in the outreach ministries they do for each other and for the communities they serve. In the heart of Little Havana, Holy Comforter offers a day care center for infants through age 6, a daily food distribution program for homeless people, low-income senior housing for 54 residents, a youth program, and an after-school program with study space and computers. St. Thomas Parish – Church and School – came together in 2009 to make Holy Comforter its major outreach in responding to the critical need for the funding for these ministries in addition to hands-on assistance.
